Cascina Goretta
19 hectares divided into: 2,5 hectares woods, 7 hectares orchard, 2,5 hectare hazelnuts, 5 hectares grassland, 0,2 vineyard, 0,3 vegetable garden and 1,5 hectares fields. This is “Cascina Goretta” Farm, teaching farm in Piedmont, where Michele will conduct you through amazing teaching paths, among animals, hazelnut trees, woods, vegetable garden and vineyard, the production workshop.
Immersed into the “Lower Monferrato”, accompanied by the small river Gora (the name “Goretta” comes from here) that flows near the Farm, between the municipalities of Moncalvo, the smallest city in Italy, famous thanks to its Truffle Fair in October, and the village of Cereseto Monferrato, where you can taste amazing cherries during the May Festival.
Besides local fairs, we also celebrate at our farm: during the events “Cogli l’ultima mela” (Pick the last apple), “I giorni della potatura” (Pruning days), “Melinfiore” (Blooming apple trees) you can taste our products, attend the fruit picking and you’ll be taught the pruning techniques, theory and practise. Moreover, you can visit out orchards, from the blooming to the picking, with the production techniques.

DESCRIPTION
The farm mainly produces pears, apples, apricots, plums, cherries, peaches, from which we obtain fruit juices without adding sugar or water, but also jams without pectin, in order to maintain the agricultural tradition and tastes from the past. Cascina Goretta’s pride is “pumà”, coming from an ancient recipe with apple pulp only.
Our love for the ground, respecting the tradition, is the leading feeling which characterises the teaching activities taking place at the farm, following a tour across the fields, to follow the fruit picking phases, and then into the lab for the transformation of products. Thanks to a familiar atmosphere and to the skilled staff, you can scrutinize themes such as the environment, land, correct nutrition, immersed into ancient smells and tastes.
