Immersed among rice fields which characterise the plain near Vercelli, the “Bosco delle Sorti della Partecipanza” of Trino looks as an amazing remain, almost unique, of a wood in the Padana Plain, survived up to the present day thanks to an accurate politics of cutting management, started already in XIII century. The wood management was committed by the Monferrato Marquis Bonifacio I to the “participants”, that is to say families from Trino that shared the deriving incomes.

The greenery is dominated by trees such as poplars and big specimens of English oaks, but in the park there are still three different hydro-situations, with a small area completely flooded where light blue – lilac flowers of the speedwell rise together with the white of the watercress, and an area of dry ground where the black locust prevails.

The park legal protection spreads to the architectural complexes of Montarolo, Madonna delle Vigne and Lucedio Abbey.
